DJ Marc Sense in Seattle Met Magazine
Check out this month’s Seattle Met Magazine for a huge feature on DJ Marc Sense. It chronicles his years as a young hip-hop activist at the University of Washington. During that era he built the skills that helped prepare him for his role as one-time manager for Blue Scholars and Macklemore, whose success has defined the city’s burgeoning hip-hop scene.
Hey Mr. DJ
Gotta thank Jive Time for pricing this at a mere $3. If you don’t know about this record, then you probably should. Google it.
Never Judge A Record By Its Cover
Classic production from Nick Martinelli including “Tell Me How It Feels” – the sample for 3X Krazy’s “Keep It On The Real“
Major Harris – Jealousy
Found this Major Harris gem in the dollar bin the other day. Having already been up on his debut album My Way, it was a no-brainer to pick this album up even if it wasn’t in the most pristine condition. “What’s The Use In Truth” immediately jumped out with it’s slow soulfullness. Can’t say that I’m a fan of Wiz Khalifa, but his song “Like A Star” nicely samples the aforementioned Harris track. Take a listen here and lemme know what you think.
Salt Lake City bound
Already anticipating flying out to the land of Big Love to DJ a wedding for the second straight year. The Wasatch Mountains will be a great place for me to get a trail run in at elevation before I head on over to the crazy nice venue La Caille and rock it.
The homie BJ and his wife Quyen kickin it last August in Utah
